3 Simple Wellness Tips I Wish I Knew Sooner

Wellness journal and the five minute journal laid out on a bed

My life has completely been changed by the little habits I've added into my routine. In this blog post, I'm sharing with you the top 3 tips that I wish I discovered sooner.

These are all simple habits that you can easily add into your routine to feel better and elevate your life!

Daily Sunlight

Sunlight has way too many benefits for us to ignore. I know, it's hard to get out in the sun every single day, especially if you live in a colder state in the winter like I do, but it's SO beneficial for us!

Sunlight is essential for vitamin D, which helps out with serotonin, immunity, and more. I think this is possibly the most simple and effective wellness habit you can add to your daily routine!

I highly suggest you try your best to see the sun every day, and you'll see for yourself how much better you feel. There's plenty of ways to see the sun everyday, or if it's truly impossible, opt in for a second best option, artificial light therapy.

Adrenal Fatigue and Caffeine Alternatives

While I am an avid coffee drinker, I have unfortunately found out that what they say is true- caffeine every day isn't ideal for the body. Now, I try to go a few days a week without caffeine, but as you'd imagine, fatigue still kicks in.

The best thing I've learned about within the last few months is adrenal fatigue. Essentially, our adrenal glands can get overworked and stop producing enough of the hormones we need, leading to fatigue, brain fog, and even sugar cravings. So, if you feel a mid-day crash every day, you might be experiencing adrenal fatigue.

Instead of leaning to caffeine to fix this, which might just make the bigger problem worse, there's actually foods and supplements you can take to improve adrenal fatigue. My favorites are ashwagandha and magnesium, but definitely do your own experimenting to see what works for you!

Cold Exposure Therapy

Now this is a wellness tip I truly never wanted to try, so I hate to admit that it works, and it works well. Cold therapy has so many benefits, including improved circulation, better sleep, stress release, reduced inflammation, and lots more.

At first, it's rough for sure. But, you kind of have to train your way into cold exposure. I recommend starting with turning your shower water to cold for the last 15-30 seconds of your showers and building up your time from there!

I know it doesn't sound like fun, but the way you feel after cold exposure is worth it, I promise. Give it a try and see the benefits for yourself!

I highly recommend all 3 of these tips I've given you, all for their own reasons! Try them out and let me know if you notice a difference!
