Wellness is huge in the social media space, so of course there's gonna be trends. I follow a lot of wellness influencers, and I like to try all the new tips and tricks they rave about!
The truth is, though, sometimes these wellness tips that are posted over and over again don't really do anything. Within my blog, it's my goal to share authentic tips with my viewers and only share things that I feel genuinely work!
So, in this blog post I'll be sharing some of the trends that I've taken part in, that I actually noticed positive differences in my health and wellness from!
"Sleepy Girl Mock-Tail"
If you're on TikTok, you've probably seen the Sleepy Girl Mock-Tail. If you're unaware, this drink concoction has been going viral on TikTok. The mock-tail consists of tart cherry juice, magnesium, and another flavored liquid of choice (usually Poppi Soda).
Tart cherry juice has been shown to induce and improve sleep, due to its natural, high levels of melatonin, the hormone that plays a role in sleep in our bodies. Magnesium is another tool to help improve sleep, because of its ability to relax muscles and calm the mind.
This was a trend I knew I had to try, and I can tell you, it definitely works. Every night that I drink this before bed, I get so sleepy and get the best sleep of my life. This is a wellness trend that no-question, for sure works. I recommend you try it if you want to get an amazing night's sleep!
Cold Plunging
This winter, cold plunging was all over my social media. Cold plunging has been a thing for years, but it wasn't until recently that everyone was talking about it and how good it makes them feel.
I know what you're thinking- I hate cold water too. I thought this trend would be a 100% no for me. But, after about a month of seeing people doing it nonstop, I figured I had to give it a try, incase it was really THAT good.
Well, I hate to break it to you, but it really is THAT good. Cold plunging can improve mood and focus, help you sleep better, reduce inflammation, reduce stress, and more! There are so many benefits. Plus, it teaches you discipline and just makes you feel good.
Yes, it sucks in the moment, but I swear it's impossible to not feel good after a cold plunge. For me, my body feels refreshed and I'm always happier after. I'm not sure if the happiness comes from a dopamine rush from the fact that I completed something so hard, or if it really is the cold water, but either way, I'm in!
Cycle Syncing Your Workouts
As women, our hormones are constantly changing throughout the month... we know this. But, what a lot of us don't realize is that we can make things easier for ourselves if we do/avoid certain things during the different phases of our cycles.
Cycle Syncing is being recommended all over TikTok and Instagram. I started learning about cycle syncing from a fitness perspective, and ever since, I've felt so much better throughout all of my phases.
During certain times of the month, I'm able to lift heavier and push myself harder. During other phases, my body is begging for a break. When I started tracking my cycle, it all started to make sense. It's not best to push your physical limits when your hormones and energy levels are low, which they are during the menstrual and luteal phases.
So, this is definitely a wellness trend I approve of. Try it out and see if it makes a huge difference for you, like it did for me!
These are 3 of the wellness trends I've participated in that I feel genuinely work! Let me know if there's any you've tried that you swear by, and I highly recommend trying these ones out!
