New Month, New You! April Wellness Challenge for Self Improvement

The beginning of each month is so exciting! New months are a chance to change things up- challenge yourself to be better. Each month I like to set new goals for myself, and choose what I'm going to focus on for the month.
So, happy April! April really feels like the start of spring to me. The weather starts to get warmer, and people start to feel happier. Here's some goals you can set for yourself, to challenge yourself to better yourself all April!
Start of The Month Practices
At the start of each month, I like to do certain things that get me inspired and hopeful for the month ahead. It's important to decide what you want the focus to be before the month comes.
My favorite way to do this is to create a monthly "vision board". I go onto Pinterest and create a board for each month, and fill it with quotes, photos, tips, whatever I want that month to look like for myself. You can see my April Vision Board here if you need some inspo!
Another thing you can do to set you up for success is start of the month journaling. Sit down for 10 minutes and write down your goals and focuses of the month. There are plenty of journal prompts you can find for the start of each month.
Solidify Your Night Routine

I've talked a lot about why night routines are important. Sleep is one of the very most important things for our health. Most people just focus on getting enough sleep, but getting quality sleep is just as important.
There are a lot of tricks you can do to get better sleep. So, this April, make sleep a priority. Slowly start adding in practices to make your sleep more restful and quality.
Some of my favorite, easiest things to add to my night routine are red light, magnesium, meditation, and tart cherry juice. You can consider starting with some of these things, or do your research to find sleep tips that work for you!
April will be the month of better sleep. It starts now, but it'll improve your wellness for good, if you really focus and get your sleep in check!
More Movement!
I don't know about you, but I find it so hard to get movement in during the winter months. I do my best, but the whole time I'm waiting for warmer weather to really step up my movement.
Spring is the perfect time to move more! The first way I suggest to do this is to be intentional with your steps. By this, I mean setting a goal for how many steps you want to reach every day. I'd start with 10k, and go up from there.
Outdoor walks are key for reaching steps, and April is a great time to start. Even a 15 minute walk each day can do wonders for both your physical and mental health.
Another thing you can do to get more movement is to find new activities you actually enjoy. Spring is a great time to do this. Try a new sport like pickleball, swimming, taking a dance class, skateboarding, whatever!
Add In a New Mindfulness Practice

For me this month, the key is going to be finding mindfulness practices to replace time I spend on my phone. Mindfulness is the state of being present. It is something that can fully transform your mental state, and make you more peaceful and positive.
There are a lot of mindfulness exercises you can start adding into your routine. Journaling, stretching, meditation, walking, drawing, puzzles, etc.
I highly suggest finding one, or a few, new mindfulness exercises that help you feel calm this month. I notice an extreme difference in my mood and emotions when I'm practicing mindfulness consistently and when I'm not.
