Gisele Bündchen's Detailed Wellness Routine- Which Tips to Take, and Which to Skip

The Wall Street Journal just published an interview with Gisele Bündchen, explaining her whole wellness routine. If you know of Gisele, you probably want to take a tip or two out of her routine.

Gisele Bündchen is an extremely well-known model, and a lot of people know her from being wife to Tom Brady for 16 years. In her interview with WSJ, she shares her wellness tricks she uses to keep so healthy and happy.

I read the interview, and I am definitely going to be trying out some of her tips. So, I thought I'd share some of the most interesting and beneficial ones with you, and share which ones I think you can skip!

Meditation in the Morning

From her interview, it seems like Gisele's morning routine is very important to her. She says she likes to wake up around 5 am (this is a tip I will not be taking), and makes time to meditate.

She says that she stretches for 15 minutes, and follows with 15 minutes of meditation. Meditation is a core wellness practice that reduces stress and helps us feel peaceful, so it's a really good habit to have in your morning routine.

Gisele is obviously a very busy woman, because of her career and two children. She sees the importance in having a morning routine that sets her up for success. She refers to her meditation as "putting on her oxygen mask first", meaning, taking care of herself first so she can better take care of everything else she has to do.

Nutrition

Gisele is releasing a cookbook on March 26, so she spoke a lot about nutrition in this interview. Some things she said were great, but I would take some things she said with a grain of salt.

Gisele says she likes to start her morning off with water with lemon and Celtic salt. I did my own research on Celtic salt, and it seems she's probably using it like an electrolyte, for improved hydration. You can probably skip this tip, though, since you only really need to add salt to your water if you lose a lot of sodium through sweat loss, from vigorous exercise.

When asked about certain diets, Gisele said it's just super important for her to look at what she's eating and where it's coming from. She keeps it simple, like eggs, avocado, and sometimes a smoothie for breakfast. She clearly takes what she eats very seriously.

The interviewer asked if there is anything she'll never eat. Gisele said "to me, white sugar means poison". This is a tip I wouldn't take to heart too much. Sugar is okay, in moderation, but she's right that we should be mindful of how much we consume.

Exercise

Exercise is another very important aspect of wellness to Gisele. She says she tries to workout six days a week. She loves pilates, because it helps with core strength. She also loves outdoor, more fun exercises, like swimming, surfing, horseback riding, and volleyball.

Gisele says she lifts weights twice a week and does cardio twice a week. This seems like a really healthy routine. I would suggest this tip, and I'd suggest finding activity that is fun for you, like Gisele!

Gisele speaks about walks and how much she loves them. She says she takes her dog for two walks a day, but doesn't consider that cardio. She uses walks more as a good activity for her brain, rather than exercise.

She says she loves to walk in silence, because we don't get enough of those moments, which I think is exactly right! Taking frequent walks can be super beneficial for our brains and our bodies.

There you have it- some wellness tips to take from Gisele, and some to skip. Of course, try everything out for yourself and see what works for you, because wellness routines are very personal. What works for Gisele might not work for you, or maybe you'll find something new that you love!
